Are you applying for yourself or for a character you've created? I'm applying for the best character I know, me! :D
If you are NOT applying for a character there is no need to fill in the following part, unless you are playing a modified version of yourself:
Name of Character:
Heritage (pure-blood, half-blood, muggle-born):
Please answer the following questions, and assume there is an "and Why?" on the end of ALL of them:
You're just about to sorted into your first year at Hogwarts! What would be going through your mind?: I'd most likely feel excited and nervous at the same time. I'd be excited to be starting something new and to be at such an important point in my life, but yet I'd be nervous to be in such a totally new environment.
Professor McGonnagall shows you towards the stool and places the hat upon your head - it takes a moment to think before shouting out your House. How do you react? How do the students of your sorted house react? Well, I adapt easily so I'd most likely be happy with wherever I am sorted, and I would probably pretty much run to my table in excitement...hopefully those in my house would be just as excited to have me. ;)
Sitting at the dinner table with fellow students around you, what kind of people would you want to talk to first? The busy ones, or the very quiet ones? Who would interest you? Who would you observe? I'm generally attracted to those who are conversating amongst many people, so I guess I'd end up going to talk to whoever seems to be in the most jolly mood! Most likely, I'd still be hesitant to approach most of the older years, so I'd probably observe them.
Imagine you're sat at your dormitory window on your first night: the others are asleep in their beds. What's going through your mind? I'd be wondering which of the aquaintances I've met will become my close friends, and what my professors and classes will be like. I'd probably not be able to sleep for a long while, because I have insomniac tendencies when anything exciting is going on in my life.
Assume all questions end with 'Why?'
Who is your favourite character in HP?: This is the ultimate difficult question for me. I like a lot of the characters, for different reasons. But since I have to choose, I have to go with Remus Lupin. Ever since PoA, he has been close to my heart, due to his gentle but cunning nature. He has a complexity to him that is sometimes lacking in the adult characters of HP. A close second would be Cedric Diggory. I just adored him, and I cried my eyes out when he was killed. I loved his people personality, and his all around goodness. However, I do feel there was more to Mr. Diggory than we were told.
Who is your LEAST favourite character in HP? This question is not nearly as difficult as the above. That would have to be Peter Pettigrew, no hesitation in my mind. He's a bad guy, but he's not one of those villains you secretly like...or in my case, lust over. He's simply a horrible person, and I can't stand him.
What occupation interests you / what would you most like to do in the HP books?: I'd love to end up as a professor at Hogwarts. Either that, or I would work hard to get onto a Quidditch team.
To you, what is the most important message in the Harry Potter books?: I find that the strongest theme in the books is friendship withstanding both the good and hard times. Harry may have never truly had a family, but his friends Ron and Hermione are always there for him, in any case.
If you were told you had to kill off someone in the HP books, who would it be? (please don't answer Voldemort, we'd all like to see the back of him): Erm, I'll have to go with Hagrid. It's not that I don't like him, he just doesn't interest me, and I don't think his being gone would bring the storylines to any kind of hault.
How would YOU finish the HP series in book 7?: Harry would die, fighting Voldemort, of course. Sad, I know, but I just don't know how many times a teenage boy can escape death from the most evil wizard in all history. Plus, I think it would be the proper way for him to go out, fighting till the end, being the Gryffindor he is. Perhaps he would reunite with his beloved parents.
If you were chosen to carry on the HP series by JK Rowling and to carry on the adventures, would you or wouldn't you and why? No, I don't believe I would. I'm a strong believer in ending something when it needs to be ended. It would be horrible to drag the series further than intended when the story needs no more telling.
If you answered 'Yes' to the previous question, how would you continue the series, what stories?
Assume all questions end with 'Why?'
If you were a jewel you'd be: A sparkling diamond, because I like to brighten people's days! (cheesy, I know)
If you were an animagus you'd be: A horse. Beautiful, yet strong and intellegent.
If you were an emotion you'd be: Love. Sometimes sweet, sometimes passionate.
If you were a weapon you'd be: A sword. A bit old fashioned, but sleek and efficient if you know how to use it.
If you were a tool you'd be: A ruler. Just handy to have around.
If you were a spell you'd be: Maybe Imperio, because I'm a little bit of a control freak at times.
If you were a good quality in a person, you'd be: Openmindedness. Kind of a funny word, I know. I think that quality would be perfect for me because I really am an accepting person. I don't like to judge people before getting to know them, and will conversate with nearly anyone who talks to me.
If you were a bad quality, you'd be: Impatience. I really don't have very much patience. I can't stand waiting for things, especially if it's something I'm not even looking foward to. I like to get things done with.
If you were someone / something in Hogwarts you'd be: Angelina Johnson, I suppose.
Why? She's just about the only girl character I identify with. She can joke around with guys, play Quidditch, and yet still be a girl.
If you were anywhere on earth, you'd be: EUROPE. Anywhere in Europe, really. I love it there.
If you were anyTHING on earth or in your life, you'd be: I don't know if that's a decision I can really make. There are so many things in the world. I'd most likely end up being something in nature, though.
If you had to choose:
Assume all questions end with 'Why?'
The Order or the Death Eaters? The Order, definately. I don't think I could ever defend someone whom I know could care less about my life. The Order is fighting for the good of everyone; they're the ultimate good guys.
Snape or Malfoy? Snape. He's snarky, mysterious, and just plain entertaining. Malfoy may be pretty, but he can get annoying.
Luna or Ginny? Luna. Ginny's never really spiked my interest, and I love Luna's uniqueness.
Crucio or Avada Kedavra? Avada Kedavra. I don't think I can watch someone suffer like that.
Harry dying or Harry living in book 7? Dying. See earlier for more.
Voldemort dead (Closed ending) or Voldemort not-quite-dead-but-people-think-he is (Open ending)?: Normally I like open endings, but for the last book of the series, I would like for JK to give us a closed ending. Hopefully Voldemort will be very dead.
Any last words?
This was a fun application! I can't wait to see what house you all think I belong in! ♥
